Smile Friday: I just got a promotion
I get more money, more hours, more responsibilty and an assistant starting on Monday!  I decided this probably means no more leaving work at 1pm to “work from home”, so am  going to take advantage of this beautiful Friday and leave work now to work from home pick up the dog and head to my parents house for the weekend.

Slacker
I told my boss I needed to leave work today at 1pm, because I had a lot of work to do and I thought it would be much easier to get it done at home.  She agreed and sent me home.  I promptly went to Target, came home and watched the season premiere of Grey’s Anatomy on DVR and spent too much time making dinner for Matt and our neighbor / friend. Long story short, I’m just sitting down...

I just pulled into a gas station to fill up my car and little brother automatically jumped out and started pumping. He’s so chilverous. I don’t ever want him to go home.

I made the most amazing dinner last night
Gordon Ramsay tweeted his recipe of the week, Honey Mustard Pork Chops with Sweet Potato Mash a couple of days ago, and it looked easy enough, so I decided to make it last night.  I served it with a side of Stovetop (don’t judge, I added diced apples), and my pumpkin spice candles burning.  It was the first fall dinner I’ve made this year and it was delicious.  Matt actually paused...

BRB, reading a million pages of archives.
carolinek: You guys! My Tumblr Buddy is pregnant and adorable! And she scored Missoni for Target shoes! And she has the cutest dog ever! And I am only on page 2. I am so excited, I can’t even stand it. I’ve been missing out. Thanks Caroline! It’s been great getting to know you through your blog this year!

Just in case anyone is wondering, the Missoni heels form Target are an excellent choice if you need to push a car through the ghetto.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup and Freshly Baked...
I’m going to see my husband for the first time in two weeks tonight! I just text him and asked what he wants for dinner. He said he has a really bad cold and only wants homemade chicken noodle soup and freshly baked artisan bread. Not exactly what I had in mind… My plan is to stop at the store on the way home from work, grab a box of chicken broth and pray there’s a recipe...

And this is why I'm friends with Danielle
Me: Did you have the Moby Wrap for the girls? New moms were really knocking it the other day. Thought you loved it.
D: Yes, I used it non-stop for Lily! It was the best thing I ever bought!
Me: They were saying it's too hard to put on. I'm thinking I'll be able to manage if I practice with a football first, right? Maybe practice putting The Pup in it!
D: It's not that hard. Dumbasses. If they can't figure out a piece of cloth, they probably should have held off on that baby.

The perfect house for the perfect price with the perfect kitchen was not perfect.  I actually didn’t even get to see the inside of the house, because the key the realtor was left didn’t even fit in the locked door.  Seeing the extremely steep, long, windy, narrow driveway, the lack of yard, and how much work the exterior of the house needed convinced me we didn’t want to live...

My grandmother, referring to my iPhone
Gram: You're one of those people that carries that thing around with you everywhere, aren't you?
Me: Well, Matt is working in Thailand, there's an 11 hour time difference, and I can't call him, so I want to have my phone handy in case he calls.
Gram: Oh, that's right. In that case I guess I'll let you.
Me: .....

Pre-natal yoga tonight consisted of an hour and five minutes of chatting about our fears and anxietys and ten minutes of actual yoga. I learned a lot of stuff I really didn’t want to.  Disgusted and still in need of a good workout.

Headed to pre-natal yoga. I really hope I handle the whole pregnancy support group thing better than the last time I was there, a month ago. Less crying about being pregnant and more moving please.
